Bridal Show album

I have never gotten into the Project Life craze. I think mainly because I don't have small children at home to have those day to day photos.

My son-in-law is the manager at a golf club and they set up a booth at bridal shows and the staff asked me to make an album to display the clubhouse photos in.

I felt the project life style would suit this best. I thought I would share some of these pages here. It was different making this because there isn't any journaling. So here is my first attempt at PL.....be kind....lol!!

I'll share the rest of the pages another day.

Black and White

Hi there! We have a topping option for you this time at Seize the Birthday.  The option is to create a black and white birthday card.

Of course you don't have to use the topping option to play along but it MUST be a birthday card.

I don't remember where I saw this technique or who I should give credit to but I thought it worked really well with the topping this week. You stamp on the 3 layers and it just flows from one layer to the next so perfectly!

I have to tell you that I soooooo wanted to add just a bit of colour to the center of the flowers...lol!

Cardstock: SU
Stamps: Penny Black, SU
Ink: Versafine
Ribbon: unk

As you can see it takes very few supplies to create this card.

Hope you have a chance to play along with this challenge! Don't forget to check out the other creations by the DT right here.

Always

I was able to get another layout done for the calendar that I make my parents for Christmas and this one actually features a photo of my parents from this past Mother's Day. I am truly blessed to still have them in my life!

Again I have to hold back on a lot of dimension because they don't want a bulky calendar....lol!!

Anyhow I played along with the sketch at Stuck On You Sketches and this is what I came up with. Sketches are always such a great jumping off point don't you think?

PP: Glitz, A.C., Fancy Pants, Cartabella

I loved putting all those different patterned papers behind the cut out stars.

@ The Mandarin

My parents always take us all out for supper in June to celebrate my birthday and my daughter's birthday and this year my sister and her husband were able to come also so I snapped this photo of them.

I make a calendar for my parents for Christmas and this layout will be in it. I have to be very careful of not adding too much bulk and dimension since they write all their appointments etc. in this calendar.

I played along with a sketch at Scraptastic but It looks like I'm too late to link up. Boo hoo. :(

PP: Webster's, Crate, Pebbles. O.A.

Debate Team Card Kit

Happy Friday everyone! I would like to share some more cards that I created with the May Debate Team Card kit.

I die cut out the word “happy” and a flourish element from black cardstock and then used the negative piece as my focal point for my card. Behind it I placed the dictionary type paper that is in the kit so it peeks out from the die cuts. I embellished with a few sequins from the store and my card was done.

May-paperbakery-sequins-die

My next card was all about the patterned paper in the kit that looks like cork. I first made a background layer using the brown cardstock and a muted piece of paper from the kit and stitched around it with my sewing machine WITHOUT using any thread just to poke holes all around the edge. Next I took a butterfly punch and made 9 butterflies out of that fabulous “cork” paper and placed them in 3 rows on the card and put a pearl in the center of each.

My “Hello” sentiment is made using the Jillibean alphas in the kit.

May-paperbakery-butterflies

In the kit is this map type paper and I matted it with the striped paper which made me think of air mail envelopes. Do they even still exist? Maybe I am dating myself….lol!

I used the following items from the store to embellish  my card. Blue sequins, Flair.
May-paperbkery-flair-sequin

I hope you will pop over to the Paper Bakery store and pick up a card kit for yourself!
